Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress. Her name has been praised for her TV and film work since the 1980s. Her awards are two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett born in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt after being born in New York New York, is well-known as an actress. Bassett along with her mother and sister were moved to St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was five. Their father separated from their mom. Bassett was in high school when she watched James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck production Of Mice and Men and was aware that her goal of being an actor had come true. Yale University New Haven Connecticut gave her a bachelor's degree (1980) with a focus on African American study, and an advanced degree (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. She met Courtney B. Vance, an actress who was also at Yale and they were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. graduated from the Yale School of Drama School with a Master's Degree in African American studies in 1980.
